Electronic Poker is a beloved game that can be wagered on in casinos all over the world, or in your house on your home computer, using an Internet account. The game rules are absolutely simple and consist of the player attempting to achieve the greatest assemblage of cards achievable in order to acquire money. In this respect it is very similar as a normal game of poker, without the involvement with any other players. Of course, methods used in a real-life game of poker, such as bluffing, will be useless in Video Poker.

The game of Video Poker begins when the player inserts credits (either tokens, credit slips or money) into the machine and pushes the draw button. A 5 card hand will then be electronically ‘distributed’ on the screen.

The Video Poker machine also has hold buttons, and players should now pick which cards to hold and which to discard. For the cards the gambler wishes to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they light up. The player can choose to keep any amount of cards they want, from all to none.

After the gambler has chosen which cards he would like to keep, the player will then press ‘deal’, at which point any new cards will be needed they will be handed out. The hand is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands printed on the payout schedule.

Typically, the lowest succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money getting larger for each and every better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It goes without saying that the payout schedule can vary from game to game, so that experienced players are agile enough to select the most beneficial machine each time.

Once the initial round has finished, the player can either choose to continue on and try to to increase their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any credits that have been won. Additionally, several versions of the game allow the bettor a chance to double their profits, in which situation a further hand is played. There are also differences between individual machines, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other differing aspects to enhance playability.
